PURLEY-ON-THAMES

The existing garden suffered from a lack of usable space due to its steeply sloping character.

To rectify this, a series of stone paving and timber decking asymmetric platforms were constructed on different levels.  Integral planting pockets of ornamental grasses and bespoke Zinc planters were added to soften and create division.

The two paved sections adjacent to the house take advantage of morning and evening sun and have glimpses of views to the Thames Valley beyond.  The main deck seating area leads down to a secondary deck housing a hot tub.  For privacy a timber slatted screen is included planted with Golden Hop.

Silver Birch and Liquidambar trees are planted throughout to screen and create a lush backdrop of foliage to the garden’s various seating areas.
