Garden Design Services

A FULL SERVICE PROFESSIONAL GARDEN DESIGN SERVICE.

The initial consultation is designed to establish what you ultimately expect from your completed garden. Any general ideas, concepts or thoughts you may have can be discussed at this point. Also, the meeting will present the opportunity to view my portfolio of completed projects. There is no charge for this consultation.

A summary of our discussions will then be presented as a client brief together with a quote for the intended design. On acceptance of this quote the design process can begin with a detailed survey of the site.

Site Survey

In addition to the practical aspects of photographing and measuring the garden and noting any level changes, I will use this time to get an overall feel for the site, taking into consideration points such as the surrounding landscape, overlooking views, architecture of house, the balance of light and shade in the garden and any existing planting that could potentially be incorporated into the design. Please note: On larger sites with complex level changes a land surveyor may be required.

Design

From this survey, the scaled plan can be drawn up in accordance with your brief. All outline plans are hand drawn and presented in colour together with perspective sketches to help the client visualise the completed design. Image boards are often used at this stage with examples of suggested materials or planting styles.

Planting Plans and Details

Once accepted, the outline plan will form the blueprint from which planting plans and any necessary construction details can be prepared.

Implementation of Design

All gardens featured on this website and in my wider portfolio have been constructed by myself and my small team of dedicated landscapers. Keeping the design and build in-house simplifies the whole process for the client and ensures the integrity and intention of the design is maintained throughout.
